Constructive Repeal

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.

That, gentle reader, is from the text of the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution of these here United States.

Now I ask you, isn’t the idea of electing John McCain to be president tantamount to a constructive repeal of that amendment? McCain couldn’t be more Bush if he was knocked out of W’s ass with a singlejack.

And I ask you, how is it possible that the polling numbers for McCain are not exactly the same as the approval rating of George Bush?

How can anyone who isn’t tripping on shrooms disapprove of the performance of George Bush and ponder the possibility of voting Republican, let alone for another crazy for cocopuffs warmonger? Is that it? They just have to vote Republican, even if the only Republican choice has every intention of keeping US in Iraq, and bombing Iran, for a hundred years or until America is dead, whichever comes first?

The new Republican slogan: Four more years of the last eight years!

We’re goin’ to hell in a bucket, and I don’t think we’re enjoying the ride.

To paraphrase a line you often use, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

Here’s the thing — there are too many stupid people out there who believe what they see on TV commercials and on FOX “news.” An Indiana voter, in response to the question, “Why didn’t you vote for Obama,” said, “He’s a Muslim (muzz-lum).” She was told, “But he is a Christian,” and responded, “He’s a liar.”

That’s classic. And exactly how Bush slipped past the national psych evaluation, twice.
